Bringing Ampol To Life

The past few weeks have been exciting for all of us as we reached key milestones and formally celebrated our revitalisation as Ampol.

Ampol Week - bringing Ampol to life with our employees

Earlier this month we marked Ampol Week internally, celebrating the heart of our business coming together united under our new brand. We kicked off the week by ringing the ASX bell, a symbolic way to mark this milestone and celebrate a new beginning for our company.

On Tuesday we brought employees together to talk about our new Ampol purpose, strategy and values, along with how we will operate going forward and what it means to work at Ampol. We also introduced our new purpose – Powering better journeys, today and tomorrow – to employees, which perfectly captures our drive to deliver value and growth for our owners, people and customers.

At the end of the week we celebrated Positive Contributor Day, with employees across the country taking time out to give back to their local community. As part of the celebration, I was pleased to welcome a new charity partner – The Smith Family – to the Ampol team.

The Smith Family is one of Australia’s leading children’s educational charities with a focus on helping to improve education outcomes among disadvantaged young Australians. Like Ampol, The Smith Family is an iconic part of Australia and a charity that is well known and respected, with a long history of serving the Australian community.

As part of the new partnership we’ll be contributing funds to the Smith Family’s flagship Learning for Life program, which provides young Australians experiencing disadvantage with the extra tools and support they need to stay at school and break the cycle of poverty.

On Positive Contributor Day, I was proud that our retail employees across the country were able to kickstart the partnership with the help of our customers, raising over $40,000 to support this important work.

Introducing Ampol to our business customers

Last week we held our Ampol Summit to celebrate the transition to Ampol with our valued customers and branded partners. I was excited to welcome some special guests to the summit, including long-term ambassador Craig Lowndes, and it was great to see some of our key leaders speak about our business goals and strategic objectives.

The event showcased our industry leadership, and we had the chance to share what a modern Ampol means for our customers, our views on the future of fuels and the evolution of our products. We also talked more about how we will leverage our brand and strong community connections to ensure that Ampol is Australia’s number one fuel brand.

Ampol returns to Queensland and South Australia

Last week we also launched our first revitalised Ampol sites in Queensland and South Australia – seeing Ampol back in these states for the first time in 25 years.

The stores – in Holden Hill, South Australia and Redbank Plains, Queensland – combine the best of our Foodary convenience offer with our Amplify premium fuels and mark the start of state-wide rollouts.

The new AmpolCard arrives

Finally, we also introduced our new fuel card brand last week – AmpolCard.

The AmpolCard brand will be rolled out across our fuel card network over the next two years. The transition will see the rebrand of 70,000 customer accounts and more than one million cards currently in circulation. Of course, we will continue to accept StarCard across the network during this time.

Ampol is a proud supporter of local business, and the new AmpolCard offering is designed to help Australians grow their businesses by saving money on everyday expenses and reducing administrative burden. I look forward to the roll out of AmpolCard as we continue to innovate and expand our fuel card offering for customers.

I look forward to updating you again next month.
