MetroGo shifts into gear as Ampol and Woolworths Metro rebrand convenience stores

Thursday 17 March 2022: Today’s opening of the first Ampol Woolworths MetroGo store in Wamberal, NSW will mark an important step forward for the Ampol Woolworths Metro partnership.

Ampol Woolworths MetroGo stores feature a range tailored for the local area looking to top-up on their groceries, along with fresh, quality food they can eat now, on the go, or grab for later. Customers will also benefit from the ability to earn points through Woolworths’ Everyday Rewards.

“Together with Woolworths, we’re setting a new standard of service, product quality and range within our channel.

Since the partnership launched in 2019, Ampol and Woolworths Metro have rolled out 31 stores across New South Wales and Victoria, with 19 new locations planned by the end of 2022. The brand transition to MetroGo will be completed over the coming months.

The first Ampol MetroGo service station opens today at 656 The Entrance Rd, Wamberal NSW and will offer more than 1400 products across the store, including more than 300 Woolworths Own brand products (40 of which are Macro branded). It will also offer:

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables, including chilled pre-cut veggies;
  • Fresh meat, including chicken breasts and tenderloins, sausages, burgers and mince;
  • Hot food, such as chicken chips, pies and sausage rolls;
  • More than 300 great quality products from Woolworths’ exclusive Own Brand range, including Macro;
  • Essential grocery items for customers to do top-up shops.
  • An array of sandwiches, salads, ready meals, pasta and pizza;
  • Great tasting Foodary coffee;
  • Access to the Ampol App to pay for fuel via a mobile phone and redeem special offers;
  • Access to earn Woolworths Rewards points and 4c off a litre redemption offer; and
  • Access to Ampol’s range of Amplify premium fuels.

All previously launched Ampol Woolworths Metro stores will also be rebranded to Ampol Woolworths MetroGo, including the first ever Ampol Woolworths Metro store in North Ryde from today.

Bringing the latest in convenience technology to consumers, the shops feature self-serve checkouts and access to the Ampol App, where consumers can pay from the convenience of their phone and access special offers.
